Bio
Our Story
The Gathering at 840 is the culmination of a vision that began over 12 years ago. It started with a conversation between our Pastor, Gene Mims, and a friend of his who happened to be a builder.
The conversation centered on the builder's challenge to Gene to start a church in the area near Page High School. He explained that hundreds of homes would be built and thousands of people would live in the area in just a few short years. Gene took this conversation to heart but did not feel that the timing was right–nor that the Lord was calling him to start at church at this point–even after the friend offered thirty-seven acres of land for a church site!
A few years passed and the builder once again challenged Gene to start a church in the area. This time, he showed Gene a sixty-eight acre tract of land near Page High School that might be for sale very soon. It appeared to be a perfect church site but once again, the timing was not right.
Fast forward to 2016.
After pastoring a Nashville church for twelve years, the Lord gave Gene (among others on his team) a vision to start a new church. After praying and planning for over a year–they now felt it was in the Lord's timing to move forward.
The Gathering at 840 is a community of believers inviting others to follow Christ with us.
